Dan Byrom

Dan Byrom This looks scary...

Dan Byrom

Dan Byrom Did 17 points (+6 from Plum) better in my practice run... Hopefully won't be the difference maker!

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre It would be really lovely if one year I actually improved at all these numbers and didn't just make a habit of giving myself a coronary by doing *just* enough.

Ben Andrews

Ben Andrews Serves me right for leaving these so late. Computer started automatic updates, and iPad play wasn’t working. Missed the deadline by an hour or so :(

Ben Andrews

Ben Andrews Here's my game anyway, dunno if it's any good now. I got it done as soon as I could today. https://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=2065996

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre No sympathy! :P

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell How does the time limit work anyway? On the sign-up page it talks about a two-week limit and it hasn't been two weeks since Ben made it into this round. If it's two weeks from the start of the round, then while some players get two weeks, others might only get a few days, especially if they got a low score in the previous round and had to wait for it to finish before being allowed through.

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier Most people get two weeks, obviously those getting through to a round late don't get that much. If that is not their fault and they were to message me with a reason for unavailability before the deadline then there would always be some flexibility. Generally the two weeks is unnecessarily long but allows anyone with, for example, a remote holiday to still take part. In Ben's case he would have had just about two weeks here if he'd been more timeous in his previous games. Having said that I'm going to advance him and we're just going to lose one Weakest Link here. Consider that a yellow card, Ben :)

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre Booooooo - Replace Anne, she's become soft.

Ben Andrews

Ben Andrews Thanks Matthew, very kind fo you to make an exception - sorry for the effect this has on the tournament later. (Unless it knocks me out later. That’d be perfect.)

Ian Birdman

Ian Birdman VAR saves Andrews...i can imagine the headlines now.

Tourney round: Weakest Link Numbers Tournament 2018: Round 12 - Hyper

<< Round 11 - Aegilops | Round 13 - Instant >>

Notes from the organizer: At halfway through the tournament, it's about time for our first trip to Hyperland. And this year it's a challenging introduction with a game in Hyper format against Apterous Plum. Hyper has a more generous 45 second round limit, and you're going to need it here as Plum will, at least initially, pick 8 small numbers and is likely to max most, if not all, rounds.
The TWO lowest scoring players in this round will leave the tournament. If there is a tie for lowest scores then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total score in the tournament so far (see notes by matches). Good luck!

Ran from: 17 February – 1 March 2018. Format: Hyper Numbers Attack. Matches: One-off. Approved.

Organizers: Matthew Tassier.

Fixtures: 27. Completed: 27.
