Andy SC NOTE
| |
Andy SC I anticipate for the Round Robin stage to last a month and unplayed games won't count
Zarte Siempre Won't everyone other than those who lose to a 9 lose within 10 points and get a bonus point?
Matthew Tassier 9 rounder, Zarte
Zarte Siempre But "Format: Sudden Death Letters."
| |
Matthew Tassier I think it's the old comical random format on sign-up page move.
Zarte Siempre Ah. OK. | |
Andy SC What Matthew said. This is just the sign up page.
Zarte Siempre OK. | |
Mike Springett When does this start?
Andy SC 7th of November, Mike. As stated in the tournament description.
Mike Springett Cool. I hope to not be square :D
Jason Larsen Sudden Death Letters? What?
Andy SC Jason, that is just a comical format for the sign ups page you won't have to play it. I will be creating another page that the fixtures will go on that the format will be standard 9.
Jason Larsen Why does it say that then?
Johnny Canuck It's just a pointless thing. There's no reason for it not to, since this is only the signups page. Don't think the games are going to be best of 99 either.
Andy SC The format is stated in the sentence under the format heading, Jason.
Andy SC The format is stated in the sentence under the format heading, Jason.
Jason Larsen Ok Andy | |
Andy SC I have had the decision to close sign ups for this tournament today. So if you still wills to enter the tournament then you will need to sign up before midnight. I will then enter all the fixtures on Sunday ready in time to start on Monday
Johnny Canuck There will be 861 fixtures in the round-robin stage if I'm interpreting this correctly. What will the end date for that stage be?
Andy SC I think the 18th December should be a fine enough date for it to finish and give people enough time.
Johnny Canuck Gotcha. | |
Johnny Canuck One other question (sorry for taking up too much of your time): Will there be 8, 16 or 32 people entered in the knockout stage?
Andy SC I don't know though if i can see anybody else signing up.
Andy SC Well certainly not 8. I was thinking 16 was a bit small and 32 was too large for number of sign ups so i thought 24 was going to be sensible enough.

Johnny Canuck So will the round-robin stage open at midnight tonight then?
Andy SC No it won't Johnny, the following midnight. I will spend all of sunday entering the many fixtures
Zarte Siempre Andy, PM me, I can help you avoid that.
Andy SC Sign ups close in just over half an hour
Andy SC Ronan i have explained this to you before. Sign ups are closed and the tournament has begun. When sign ups were open i got notifications on two occasions saying you had signed up and when i went to this page your name was not there so i could not accept or had no possibility to do so. |
Notes from the organizer: It is time for the return of Everything Counts with the 3rd Edition. Things are changing this time.
For those of you who remember the first edition and the Rugby World cup based tournament i ran, this tournament will combine those two.
FORMAT
The first round of the tournament will consist of a round robin stage where every player that enters the tournament will play everybody and will played to the standard 9 round format.
How you can score points is detailed below:
4 Points for a win
2 Points for a draw
1 Bonus point for losing within 10 points
1 Bonus point for scoring 70+ points in any game
The amount of players that advance to the knockout stage will depend on how many players enter the tournament. It will most likely be 8 or 16 players that advance from the round Robin stage.
The Knockout stage will consist of two legged ties up until the final, basically the same as the knockout stage of footballs champions league. So the player that is listed in the left column on the tournament page will have the home advantage in the first game and the away rule will apply if a tie occurs and the players totals score over the two games will count to their final score.
The sign ups for this tournament will close on the 6th November with the tournament to start on he 7th of November.
Hope to see you all in the tournament.
