Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier I think you have entered a wrong match in Canada v Japan. Jack and Darran are both Japanese.

Marcus Hares

Marcus Hares I do beg their pardons - corrected. Thanks Matthew!

Darran Prior

Darran Prior pheewww you let Jack off the hook there ;)

Marcus Hares

Marcus Hares Congrats to team Australia (Zarte Siempre/Heather Styles) on their 3-2 win over team Czech Republic (Chris Marshall/Anthony Endsor) and to team Great Britain (Amie Bateen/Ian Volante) on their 3-2 win over team United States (Thomas Cappleman/James Bailes). Both ties exactly replicating the scores in the real Davis Cup!

Marcus Hares

Marcus Hares Just a week to get these matches played now - please do contact your opponents to arrange a suitable time to play.

In the meantime, congrats to team Japan (Jack Worsley/Darran Prior) who have an unassailable 3-0 lead in their tie with Canada (James Robinson/Zubair Patel).

Marcus Hares

Marcus Hares Hi guys, a reminder that the deadline for these matches is tomorrow. There are still quite a number of matches to be played and 5 ties are still undecided.

Please arrange between yourselves a suitable time to play over the weekend - thanks!

Marcus Hares

Marcus Hares Congrats to team Belgium (Stephen R/Bojack Horseman) who completed a 4-1 win over team Switzerland (Adam Dexter/Phil Collinge) yesterday.

Still 4 more ties to be resolved and only today to get your matches played please.

Marcus Hares

Marcus Hares Congrats to team Croatia (Alan Young/Alex Fish) who completed a 3-2 win (in the most exciting fashion) over team Serbia (Tracey Mills/Matthew Tassier) today.

Marcus Hares

Marcus Hares Congrats to team Kazakhstan (David Barnard/Antoinette Ryan) who completed a 3-2 win over team Italy (Callum Todd/Jonas Bush) earlier today.

Marcus Hares

Marcus Hares Unfortunately not all the matches were completed in round 1 so I've arbitrarily awarded the wins to team Germany (Matthew Brockwell/Ben Hocking) who already held a 2-1 advantage over team France (Jamie M/Andy Sc) and to team Brazil (Jason Turner/Jordan F) over team Argentina (Tom Rowell/Marcus Hares) as Tom was unavailable to play any of his matches.

Hopefully the quarter-finals (in July) will run a bit smoother!

Tourney round: Apterous Davis Cup 2015: Round 1 (Singles)

Round 1 (Doubles) >>

Notes from the organizer: The inaugural Apterous Davis Cup is a spin-off to the main Apterous ATP Tour.

Any player who had entered a tournament in the main tour was offered the chance to compete in this new team event. The 32 players who took up the offer were assigned a random team.

This competition will closely follow the dates and format for the actual Davis Cup - there will be 4 singles matches and 1 doubles match. There are 2 players on each team.

The singles matches are single Standard 15 rounder games - simply the player who wins a singles match will earn 1pt for the team.
The doubles matches are single Standard 9 rounder games - 2 players from each team will compete in the doubles matches and play a single game against each of the members of the opposite team. The winners from the doubles match will be the team whose aggregate score across the 4 games is the higher and will earn 1pt for the team.

The teams with the most points at the end of the 5 matches will progress to the next round.

Up to date results will be posted daily on the main website here - http://marcusbunnyuk.wix.com/atp2015#!apterous-davis-cup/cljj
