Johnny Canuck

Johnny Canuck The 1st Floor is now open! James Hurrell has received a bye and will not have to play in this round. Everyone else... fingers on the buzzers, please!

Johnny Canuck

Johnny Canuck (Byes are random, BTW.)

Jon Stitcher

Jon Stitcher Johnny, when James and I played there must have been some lag and by the time I saw the conundrum James had already solved it!

Johnny Canuck

Johnny Canuck Don't worry. You're in virtually no danger of elimination anyway.

Andy Platt

Andy Platt MAX GAME!!! ;) :) 8-) :P

James Hurrell

James Hurrell Just as well, conundrums are comfortably my worst round

Jon Stitcher

Jon Stitcher So, who's eliminated?

James Hurrell

James Hurrell I was going to say Zarte, but what do I know

Jon Stitcher

Jon Stitcher I think it's Zarte too, lowest score in 1st round of everyone who didn't solve the conundrum

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre It's not me, it's Joe - Johnny told me himself.

Jon Stitcher

Jon Stitcher surely every game should be checked to make sure that it didn't go to a second conundrum? shouldn't a 0-0 be possible here?

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre You can tell which games did, it's where the 10 isn't in bold.

Jon Stitcher

Jon Stitcher ah I see, so Thomas and Joe score 0 here?

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre I don't know - I'd presume it'd be viewed as lower though.

Johnny Canuck Since Joe's account has been deactivated, I have had no choice but to eliminate him from further competition (until the end of THIS tourney). I do not suspect he was cheating here, and if he rejoins Apterous he may enter my future tourneys.

Jon Stitcher

Jon Stitcher Johnny, can you just clarify exactly what would have happened had Joe not had his account deactivated?

Also, do the guys who won on a 2nd conundrum count as having scored 0 or 10 here?

Johnny Canuck

Johnny Canuck The people who won on a tie-break count as scoring 0 for this floor. Had Joe stayed, we would have eliminated the player who got the lowest score on this floor (i.e. 0). But of course, there is a many-way tie for lowest score. To break this tie, we look at Antechamber scores.

Johnny Canuck

Johnny Canuck Of the players who scored 0 on the 1st Floor, whichever got the lowest Antechamber score (whom I believe would have been Zarte) would be gone. But it's a moot point now...

Jon Stitcher

Jon Stitcher That's great Johnny thanks, It's just so we're all clear on the future rounds.

Tourney round: The Great Pyramid: 1st Floor

<< Antechamber | 2nd Floor >>

Notes from the organizer: The Pyramid's first round of elimination! A journey of a thousand steps begins with a single conundrum! Of the players who fail to solve this conundrum, the one who scored lowest in the Antechamber will be eliminated. May it not be you!

You're welcome to play your 1st Floor matches right away, even if your Antechamber matches aren't done. But make sure you're ready for it.

Important reminder: In this tourney, tie-break conundrums do not count toward your score. Hope the first conundrum treats you kindly!

Ran from: 7 – 22 May 2013. Format: Single Conundrum. Matches: One-off. Approved.
