Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison Right, think that's all the fixtures in. You should all have three each, and against three different opponents obviously! Let me know if I buggered any up or missed any. AND GO TEAM! xx

Ian Volante

Ian Volante I only got two messages from the tourney owl. Don't know if that's a bad thing.

Ian Volante

Ian Volante Oh, I got three. I'm dim.

Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison Apparently I've set the fixtures to start from tomorrow although I had no idea that was a thing, assumed start date was nothing but a guide, oops. Please wait until tomorrow when they become active in the system proper. Sorry!

Andy Platt

Andy Platt Hypothetically if two players, let's call them MW and AP, just, you know, hypothetical names, tried to play their game with a custom set up, would you like them to play it again or is the result OK to stand?

Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison Haha yeah MW FB messaged to tell me! Sorry Andy completely my fucking fault. For my OCD I'd prefer it if you played again, but if you really don't want to I'd also understand and will just keep score manually.

Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison Actually kind of both your faults too ;-)

Michael Wallace

Michael Wallace Oh I'm sorry for being TOO ORGANIZED for you Matthew. (Sorry not sorry.)

Alex Fish

Alex Fish Ha, James managed to get a last minute draw in our game by declaring 0 correctly!

Alex Fish

Alex Fish think that's the apterous equivalent of a last minute owl goal

Jon O'Neill

Jon O'Neill What's the first tiebreaker after points? GD?

Jim B

Jim B If so, is it goals scored after that?

Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison It will be whatever the real world cup is, I did look it up four years ago but I have forgotten to be honest.

Conor Travers

Conor Travers From Wikipedia (2014 World Cup): The ranking of teams in each group will be based on:
Points in all group matches
Goal difference in all group matches
Goals scored in all group matches
Points in matches between tied teams
Goal difference in matches between tied teams
Goals scored in matches between tied teams
Drawing of lots

Conor Travers

Conor Travers (top to bottom in order of precedence)

Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison Thanks for that Conno. Much appreciated. Intend to publish a "so far" ranking of the groups at some point over the weekend.

Kieran Bray

Kieran Bray Andy Platt v Michael Wallace in Group H appears to be absent

Andy Platt

Andy Platt We played it before the tournament was officially set up - Matt has included it on this page http://www.c4countdown.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=10458

Kieran Bray

Kieran Bray ok, my bad :)

Andy Platt

Andy Platt Cracking spot like

Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison Yeah I left it up for ages Kieran and removed it yesterday - when I was adding fixtures it wasn't 100% confirmed the result would stand.

Ian Volante

Ian Volante My result against Brett is showing the wrong way round - I won 6-5.

Ian Volante

Ian Volante And Zarte beat me 7-6, that's showing as a win for me. Has something gone odd?

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre ...yeah...

Andy Platt

Andy Platt Already ticketed http://www.apterous.org/ticket_view.php?ticket=2428

Ian Volante

Ian Volante Cool.

Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison Possibly Charlie has half-reversed something he did earlier? An hour ago all the contestants had [1] or [2] behind their names...

James Robinson

James Robinson And my game is completely wrong in colour and scoring!! :p

James Robinson

James Robinson With Matthew Tassier that is :)

Kieran Bray

Kieran Bray Mine with Matthew Brockwell is wrong too... :/

Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison Guys, Andy has already reported this as a bug, see his ticket earlier. Feel free to let me know when this happens to a new game but anything already recorded on the group stage diagram on the c4c thread is recorded as ok :)

Jon Stitcher

Jon Stitcher Yeah, I beat Andy! Don't remember doing that but I'm sure I did ;)

Andy Platt

Andy Platt Looks sorted now.

Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison Great progress every one. Just four fixtures left to go.

Peter needs a win over Heather to progress otherwise he's out of Group A.

Ryan needs to beat Oli to progress otherwise Oli will progress from Group B.

Mark needs to beat Tom by 2 to progress from Group D, otherwise Tom qualifies.

Amie needs to beat Kieran to continue from Group E with Tracey currently in her slot.

Only three on 9 points - Conor (Spain; oops), James (Colombia) and Zarte (Argentina) - Conor and Zarte have also played perfect group games scoring 21/21 winners, and both have +8 goal difference.

Ryan Taylor Just building the tension. Expecting a big crowd!

Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison 9pm

Ryan Taylor

Ryan Taylor The tourney system seems to have counted it as a win for Oliver. Must be that bug again.

Matt Morrison

Tourney round: Apterous World Cup: 2014: Group stage

<< 2014: Qualifying | 2014: Round of 16 >>

Notes from the organizer: With our 32 confirmed entrants we're ready to begin the group stage fixtures.

As soon as the fixtures are published here (which is just subject to photo confirmations - please see aptomail), you can play your games as quick as you like, no need to wait to match up with the real world cup fixture dates or anything.

PLEASE try and have all three of your matches done by June 26th.

Only the score after the first 7 rounds counts as far as the tournament is concerned - apterous will force you to continue to find a winner but only the result of the first 7 rounds matters for tournament scoring.

Ran from: 5 – 26 June 2014. Format: Apterous World Cup. Matches: One-off. Approved.

Organizers: Matt Morrison.

Fixtures: 47. Completed: 47.
