Notes from the organizer: The quarterfinals will play in two phases over three sub-rounds. The first phase - also this sub-round - is the Ranking Round.
Format
All 6 players will play against one intermediate-level Apterous bot (slightly tougher than the Apterous Plum), in a best-of-3 format.
Scoring
1. 2-0 win > 2-1 win > 1-2 lose > 0-2 lose (">" sign represents "ranks higher than");
2. In the same result category, these tie-breakers will be deployed to rank the players, in order:
1) Players' scores (the higher player scores, the higher he ranks, not including tie-breakers);
2) Bot's scores (the lower bot scores, the higher player ranks, not including tie-breakers);
3) Players' scores in the letters rounds;
4) Players' margins (absolute values) in the numbers rounds (no solution or losing the numbers round counts as 10).
Qualifications
No one will be qualified or eliminated immediately after this sub-round. Top 4 players will play in the Sub-round 1, where 2 winners will be qualified to the semifinals; while the rest of the players will play in the Sub-round 2 to determine the 2 player who will be eliminated.
Loads of stuff on the line which is worth playing for, so treat this sub-round seriously.
