Andy SC I forgot to mention also about the intermediate sprints which will happen in stages that are not time trials and this will occur for one round between 9-12 of each stage, so the quickest solvers of the conundrum will get points towards the conundrum

Matty Artell

Matty Artell This seems so needlessly convoluted

Andy SC

Andy SC just leave it to me to calculate results and stuff and you just do the playing

Andy SC

Andy SC TAKE NOTE
The French Conundrum Attack is to now be replaced with Duckdown conundrum attack, for the Team Time Trial Stage

Ian Volante

Ian Volante Not convinced that best-of-99 is entirely attractive!

Tourney round: Apterous Tour De France : Sign Up Page

Stage 1 - Bullet Conundrum Attack >>

Notes from the organizer: After watching the events unfold at the Tour De France and Chris Froome's amazing win, it has giving me the inspiration to go ahead and create an apterous version. The tour will have different conundrum formats that will be played which will be giving down below but first I will explain how each jersey will work.

YELLOW JERSEY
It will be determined on the total time you take to solve for each conundrum, so for example if it was a conundrum x5 format and you took 10, 7, 5, 4, 3 seconds that would give you a total of 29 seconds for that specific stage.

GREEN JERSEY
Will be determined by the total amount of points collected throughout the tour and the points systems will be the same as the Tour De France its self or changed slightly depending on the numbers. I will have a link below to the points systems used in the Tour De France so you can try and make sense of it.

POLKA DOT JERSEY
Will be determined by who collects the most points in the mountains. For the categorised climbs that their will be i will selected a random round or more in various stages and the quickest player(s) to solve the conundrum will get the points. For example in a Nasty conundrum attack I might select say Round 9 as the climb which would be lets say a category 4 climb the person who solves the conundrum the fastest would receive 1 point for the Polka Dot Jersey which will also go towards the Green Jersey.

TEAM CLASSIFICATION
I will split the players into teams, team sizes will depend on what the number of players participating are like. It will work by just adding the total time of each player in the team together, for teams that have less players, I will take the average of the team for the stage and times it be the number of players in the teams that have a greater number of players. The teams will be drawn the day before it is due to start and will be decided on what the pro ranks are at that specific time.

WHITE JERSEY
In the Tour De France the white jersey it's self is giving to the highest place rider under the age of 25 but for this tourney it will be for players that have been on Apterous for less than 2 years prior to the start date which will entirely depend on when this tourney is accepted.

SCHEDULE
Stage 1: Time Trial (Bullet Conundrum Attack)
Stage 2: Flat Stage (Goatundrum Attack)
Stage 3: Flat Stage (Nice Conundrum Attack)
Stage 4: Flat Stage (Junior Conundrum Attack)
Stage 5: Hilly Stage (Aegilops Conundrum Attack)
Stage 6: Mountain Stage (Hyperundrum Attack)
Stage 7: Mountain Stage (Nasty Conundrum Attack)
Stage 8: Team Time Trial (French Conundrum Attack) *
Stage 9: Hilly Stage (Instant Conundrum Attack)
Stage 10: Mountain Stage (Omelette Conundrum Attack)
Stage 11: Flat Stage (Conundrum Attack)

* Team Trial will work, where your time will be the total time of the team for that specific stage, for teams that have less players it will work the same as I mentioned in the team classification section above.

I plan for each stage to run for a week at a time, where you will have two games in this time period. One of the games will be against Prune and the other game will be against somebody that is not part of your time but this is where uneven team numbers could be a problem but I will figure out a way around it when the time comes.
