Callum Todd

Callum Todd As I meant to say in the first paragraph o the notes, I will take the average score of your 2 games here as your qualifying score. A reminder that blobbed rounds are pretty damaging in Stepdown scoring, so if in doubt it may be best to play safe.

Callum Todd

Callum Todd Of the 5 people who have completed their games so far, Giles leads with an average flat stepdown score of 124.5. Jack is in second with 123.

Jack leads the pencils charts with two over Ian's ones, while we are yet to see a conundrum solved!

Callum Todd

Callum Todd Innis takes top spot by very consistently scoring 128 in both games. He also becomes the first person to solve a conundrum in this tournament.

Callum Todd

Callum Todd That's half of the fixtures complete in one day, amazing stuff, thanks everyone. If the round is finished before this weekend I'll put the play-offs up as soon as possible. If not then it'll have to wait until I get home from MultiLon on Sunday.

George Ford

George Ford am I losing

Callum Todd

Callum Todd You are currently 12th of the 13 people who have completed George. But don't worry, there's no eliminations just yet. It just means that you'll go into a play-off rather than straight into round 2 :)

George Ford

George Ford yay ok!!!

Callum Todd

Callum Todd We have a new leader! Adam scores an average of 128.5 to beat Innis by 0.5 points. With 8 fixtures left to be played, the top 2 (Adam and Innis) are now guaranteed to go straight through into the second round.

Callum Todd

Callum Todd 7 fixtures left! This means that Giles will definitely join Adam and Innis in round 2.

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard Prune in with a shout with a running total of 50 points?

Callum Todd

Callum Todd Prune currently has 25 flat stepdown points over 32 games, so it is currently in 18th place out of 23 with an average of 0.78125.

Callum Todd

Callum Todd Matthew Brockwell becomes the fourth player to guarantee a place in the second round.

Callum Todd Jack Worsley is the fifth player to secure passage into round 2.

Callum Todd

Callum Todd Ray, myself, and David have all secured a place in round 2. As things stand, Zarte and Jamie will be joining us, unless Matthew and/or Amie can usurp them.

Callum Todd

Callum Todd Zarte is the ninth player to be guaranteed a second round spot. The tenth will be either Jamie M or Matthew T.

Callum Todd

Callum Todd Congratulations to Jamie who becomes the tenth player straight through into Round 2. Commiserations to Apterous Prune who is the only player to be eliminated from this round with an average score of 0.9 over 44 games.

The play-offs are up now and those who are involved in them have 2 weeks to play their fixtures, which are best-of-3.

Round 2 will begin as soon as possible after the play-offs are completed.

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard ul Pruney :(

Tourney round: Hypertouch tourney: Round 1 - Qualifiers

<< Sign-up area | Round 1b - Play-offs >>

Notes from the organizer: There are 22 players in the first round. To qualify for the second round, each of these players will have 2 Hypertouch 15 games to play against Prune. I will then convert each of the scores into Stepdown scoring, with conundrums being worth 5 points rather than 10.

The top 10 of the 22 will go straight through to Round 2, while the remaining 12 will play against each other in an intermediate round to determine who qualifies for the remaining 6 places in Round 2. Thanks to Zarte for suggesting this idea, which was a lot better than any of my ideas for how to structure the first round.

The tournament schedule is very busy at the moment, and it's Co:MultiLon this weekend, but these games are just against prune so I've given 8 days to play them. The deadline is Sunday 24th August. The 6 play-off games will follow in the next two weeks or so, and then we'll get down to Round 2 from which point onwards it will be a straight knockout.

Thank for joining everyone, and best of luck with your games!

Ran from: 16 – 24 August 2014. Format: Hypertouch 15. Matches: Best-of-2. Approved.

Organizers: Callum Todd.

Fixtures: 22. Completed: 22.
