Julia Hayward Could be appropriate if Prune is required to make up the numbers... "Northamptonshire could only finish above second from last four times between 1923 and 1948, finishing last every year from 1934 to 1938 and enduring a run of 99 matches from 14 May 1935 to 29 May 1939 without a single championship victory, a record that has never been beaten"
Rhys Benjamin Right then, looks like no one else is going to enter, so away we go.
Rhys Benjamin I think it might be a good time to explain the round robin scoring system, which will be exactly like the LVCC:
| |
Alex Fish you'll all be pleased to know i got philander as a conundrum with James!
Brett Davids Jon and I presume we're not meant to play a third game, right?
Jon Stitcher Am I right that Brett and I don't play the third game?
Rhys Benjamin Yes, it's a fault in the tourney system.
Jon Stitcher is it 1 point for every 50 points scored in each innings, match or overall?
Rhys Benjamin Overall - simply because it's much easier in Microsoft Excel.
Jon Stitcher ok great, when do we see a table?
Rhys Benjamin OK then.
| |
Alex Fish any reason mine and James' game isn't showing in green/red?

Dave Noble Seems that all 1-1 results stay in white rather than going grey as the description says it should
Rhys Benjamin Well, this is rolling along pretty nicely. So all the completed fixtures cause the table to look like this - and the two bookies' favourites (which should be obvious) have already played each other...
| |
Rhys Benjamin Thanks to what can only be described as a cock-up, Jason Turner has played two less than it says there. ^
Rhys Benjamin Halway through, time for a points update:

Alex Fish Hi all, I just moved home and have no internet atm so i'm only able to play from work, weekdays 9-5 normally. Please PM me to liaise if you can do a little earlier / later. |
Notes from the organizer: Loosely based (yes, again) on the county cricket season...
Before you close this tab down after the mention of the word "cricket", this is ridiculously simple.
We'll start with the County Championship (not sponsored by LV).
To reflect the different formats used, the County Championship will be 15 rounders, the One Day Cup (40 over matches) will be old 15 rounders, and the T20Blast will be 9 rounders.
This round is the County Championship: a very simple round robin where you play two games each and draws are allowed.
The One Day Cup and T20Blast have finals in them, that's all that's different.
I'd like to get the County Championship done by October 2014; when we get a decent number of players we can close signups and give this a go.
Ran from: 11 July – 11 October 2014. Format: 15 Rounder. Matches: Best-of-2. Approved.
Signed up: Jon Stitcher, Jason Turner, Sam Hodkin, Anoush Khachik, Darran Prior, James Bailes, Dave Nicholson, Dave Noble, Alex Fish, Julia Hayward, Brett Davids, Ben Hocking.
Fixtures: 66. Completed: 49.
Key. Green: winner. Red: loser. Grey: tie. (Stripes: provisional, match in progress.)
