Bojack Horseman

Bojack Horseman Feel free to sign up even if/when we reach 20 or so people as a second game is not an impossibility.

Ian Volante

Ian Volante Hmm, Beltane eve, unlikely I can make this.

Phyl Styles

Phyl Styles sorry, can't manage this date - have fun!

Heather Styles

Heather Styles Having had my three shots at 15-to-1 fame, I am happy to be a reserve for this if needs be.

Ryan Taylor

Ryan Taylor Working that night but I'll be happy to have questions ran by me.

Bojack Horseman

Bojack Horseman People who can't make it- Feel free to sign up anyway. With enough interest there could well be a second game. :)

Bojack Horseman

Bojack Horseman and as I can't seem to edit comments- make sure you comment here first if you can't make it but would be interested in a future show, and Ryan that would be appreciated, cheers.

Andy Platt

Andy Platt I make that 15, but keep em coming.

Bojack Horseman

Bojack Horseman Looking at the numbers, the chances of a second game is now extremely high for anyone interested.

Andy Platt

Andy Platt As far as I'm aware, Ryan Taylor and Karen Pearson are interested in playing the second game, so that's two extra. Anyone else?

Andy Platt

Andy Platt This is now in apto chat. See you in 50 minutes!

Andy Platt

Andy Platt Congrats to Bob who won with a score of 203, notably without getting a single question wrong during the whole game. Ned was second on 142 and James R was third on 52. Planning commences for Game 2 next week.

Bob De Caux

Bob De Caux Thanks Andy and Callum - very enjoyable and as Ned said, surprisingly nerve-wracking! Do I not finish on 233 with the extra lives?

Andy Platt

Andy Platt NO!

..yeah sure why not, forgot about that.

Bob De Caux

Bob De Caux RICE!

Andy Platt

Andy Platt Don't you mean Ric? Or was it Ricer?

Bob De Caux

Bob De Caux Couple of thoughts on the buzzer bit:
1) If you do mistype, it shouldn't pass on to the first person who typed it correctly. An incorrect buzz in the show just loses you a life
2) Can you not just implement a similar system to apterous where you buzz in with the first letter, and then get prompted for the answer by the QM? Can't see any flaws with this, but might be missing something. Obviously, typing the wrong letter is a wrong answer

Andy Platt

Andy Platt Yeah I think we might make the questions harder as well. I feared that people would just buzz as soon as i typed the question

Tourney round: Apterous Fifteen to One: Game 1

Game 2 >>

Notes from the organizer: Apterous does Fifteen to One!

I'll be hosting this as a one-off with Callum Pickering. Doesn't take a genius to realise we're aiming for 15 entrants, which we will accept on a "first come, first served" basis, but we'd also like 3 to 5 reserves to cover the few that will inevitably not show. If there is enough interest, we can probably eke out a second question set.

It'll be the 30th April, 8pm, Facebook group chat, live 15-to-1 game, which should take about an hour.

You've seen how it works on TV, and probably know most of the rules. Any specific queries can be tackled later.

We'd also like a couple of people to help out with testing the questions and rating their obscurity in order for us to provide as well-balanced a game as possible, so let us know if you'd like to do this (obviously that will mean you can't take part in the actual game so bear that in mind).

Ran from: 30 April – 1 May 2014. Format: Masters. Matches: Best-of-15. Approved.

Organizers: Andy Platt.

Fixtures: 0. Completed: 0.
